Hy-Lube Oils & Lubricants

Protect equipment, support reliable performance and simplify lubricant selection with the Hy-Lube range of oils, greases, coolants and specialist fluids. Hyde Park Environmental supplies products for engines, hydraulic systems, industrial machinery, gearboxes, transmissions and demanding maintenance applications.

The correct lubricant helps manage friction, heat, wear, corrosion and contamination, but selection must be based on the equipment manufacturer’s specification, not colour, price or viscosity alone. Grades, base oils, additive packages and approvals can differ significantly even when products appear similar.

Our range is organised around practical application groups so maintenance teams can find suitable options more easily, whether servicing mobile plant, commercial vehicles, workshop equipment or fixed industrial assets. Product information should always be checked against the required viscosity, performance standard before use. With dependable supply and straightforward guidance, Hy-Lube helps businesses keep essential fluids available while maintaining consistent, specification-led lubrication across their fleet, workshop or production environment.

What are industrial oils and lubricants?

Oils and lubricants are fluids or greases used to reduce friction, control wear, transfer heat, protect against corrosion or transmit power within machinery. Different applications demand specific viscosity grades, additive systems and performance approvals. Engine oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil and grease are not interchangeable. Always use the grade and specification stated by the equipment manufacturer, and avoid mixing products unless compatibility has been confirmed by the relevant technical guidance.

Types of oils, greases and fluids

Engine oils protect internal combustion engines under varying loads and temperatures. Hydraulic and industrial oils transmit power or lubricate process equipment. Gear and transmission oils are formulated for loaded gear sets and drivetrain components, while greases stay in place where a fluid oil would not. Coolants, brake fluids and specialist products serve additional thermal, protective or functional roles. Selection requires the correct viscosity and performance specification. Storage, dispensing and contamination control also matter: keep containers sealed, clearly labelled and protected from water, dirt and cross-mixing.

Hy-Lube Oils FAQs

Find answers to common questions about spill response equipment, from choosing the right kit to proper use, storage, and importance of effective spill control.

Check the equipment handbook, service information or technical specification for viscosity grade, performance standard and required approval. Match all relevant requirements to the product data sheet. If the specification is unclear, provide the equipment make, model, year and application before purchasing.

Do not assume products are compatible because they share a viscosity grade or application name. Different base oils and additive systems can interact or reduce performance. Use the same approved product where possible and seek technical confirmation before mixing, especially for hydraulic, gear, transmission and specialist fluids.

Keep sealed containers upright in a clean, dry, secure area, protected from extreme temperatures, rain and contamination. Use suitable bunding where leakage could occur, rotate stock, retain labels and prevent cross-contamination through dedicated dispensing equipment. Follow the Safety Data Sheet and local spill and waste procedures.
